Hysteria now: Liam Sy Paquemar presents Le Bal d’Artemis Act II at The Koppel Project, Mar 3 – Apr 13

2 March 2017

Liam Sy Paquemar is presenting solo exhibition Le Bal dArtemis Act II at London’s The Koppel Project, opening March 3 and running to April 13.

Bringing together video, poetry and sculpture, the installation will look at the discourse of hysteria. In an effort to redefine it, the London-based artist will oscillate between “primitive symbolism, classicism and sci-fi” in search of a ‘fresh beliefs.’

The Koppel Project is an international and multidisciplinary project space, that also has a large number of artists’ studios and a two-floor exhibition space, defining itself as a ‘laboratory’ for testing and supporting new forms of contemporary art.

It’s Always the Others @ The Koppel Project, Jul 14 – Sep 5

11 July 2016

The It’s Always the Others who Die group exhibition is on at The Koppel Project, opening July 14 and running September 5.

British artists Louise Ashcroft, and Nicholas Abrahams & Nicholas Pankhurst will present video projection, screens, found objects and images in an immersive installation that is tied together by an “anarchic experimental process and tendency to mess around”.

The show, whose title is from Marcel Duchamp’s grave, is described as being like a fun house at the fair, evoking traditional forms of mass entertainment, “a collective funeral wake for the living; an uplifting apocalypse-party of absurd clutter”.
