Le collectionneur @ CCS – Paris

“The collector is the person who regroups what is scattered, it creates an order in the universe around himd and establishes his power with the control and gathering of the objects that belong to it”.

In this upcoming exhibition @ the Parisian Swiss Cultural Centre the visitor will encounter a series of drawings on paper, aluminum as well as murals, all belonging to Marc Bauer who focuses on the darkest periods of French history… that part of the 20th century under the Nazi occupation, and in particular that of the spoliation of Jewish collections. Marc Bauer attempts to reconstruct the atmosphere of those bourgeois Parisian flats left in a hurry and puts into perspective with other collections.

During the vernissage next Friday as well as the Saturday before its closure (13th of April) Marc Bauer’s animated piece “L’architecte” will be screened at 20h with live music by French rock group Kafka, a project which is inspired by Nosferatu. More info on the CSS webpage.
