Modern Art Oxford is bringing two simultaneous exhibitions – Debora Delmar Corp.‘s Upward Mobility and the group show Test Run: Performance in Public – to its art space, both running from March 27 to May 17.
The major new site-specific installation by Mexico City artist Debora Delmar Corp. uses a group of banners displaying imagery found of the social media page of a Mexican bank, which, surrounded by garden hedges and kitchen countertops, creates a maze-like effect much like the city itself.
Meanwhile, the group show Test Run: Performance in Public invites 20 different artists to explore the use of public space for performance art and what happens when ‘normal behaviour’ in public spaces is disrupted. Participating artists include Günter Brus, Jeremy Deller, Alicia Frankovich and Gillian Wearing.
