We just discovered that last month took place the Robot Film Festival in NY!
A two day celebration of robots on films that unfortunately is now over but we’ll certainly keep an eye on for next year. For this first edition there were 74 films submitted, 50 screened, nine Botskers Awarded (their mascot), and one Audience Award.
Awards were presented by festival-founder Heather Knight and comedian Reggie Watts, with the approving presence of Executive Robot Data in feathered headdress. Awards included 10 categories going from Best Story or Picture… to best Robot actor, Best Human as a robot or the following “Visionary Futures”.
Quite a forward thinking event that became possible thanks to people like Heather Knight or Suzan Eraslan & Kevin Laibson from magicfuturebox.
