Fort Delta is hosting the solo debut from artist Aiden Morse, titled Soft Opening and running at the Melbourne art space from September 18 to October 4.
Morse’s exhibition comes on the heels of his collaboration with writer (and girlfriend) Anna Crews in En Suite, a joint exhibition between the two artists, also at Fort Delta, in March this year.
Whereas Morse and Crews used symbols and affects of domesticity to explore their “potential (and terrifying) future as a couple” in En Suite, Morse takes on the topic of domesticity and monogamy as a solo artist with Soft Opening, using photographs extracted from specific personal experiences and those of the couple at public events to create polished and ad-like but vaguely abstracted images of love in the capital age.
