Artists Jen Lu and Tim Nolan have come out with a new project, titled #SimplifyThatShit now live on the website.
The project comes as a natural next step in Lu and Nolan’s collaborative Universalscene two-artist collective, which marries the ad industry with the art world through “contagious, interactive experiences for distribution on the web”.
#SimplifyThatShit is a system of creating modern art by simplifying images down to their core elements. On their website are a collection of iconic paintings, like Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ and Rothko’s ‘Untitled No. 18’, reduced to their modern art-aesthetic of their geometric compositions and made into hand-screened prints.
