Teleglitch

9 December 2012

Like Joseph Berstein reports on KS, it is a discovery indeed. After 3 years in the making and a highly praised public beta last October, the team @ Teleglitch finally released their dark sci-fi story a couple of weeks ago…

Johann, Mihkel & Edvin have managed to come up with this top-down shooter which shall teleport all of us into the future of humanity, you know… one of those cold worlds where big bad corporations control our world and exploit most human beings.

In Teleglitch that big bad corp is called Miliary Technology Incorporated (aka Militech), who happen to be specialized in necrotic tissue reactivation and nonhuman combatants (zombies, cloned battle organisms, robots etc) and have one of those outer space colonies where they experiment with forbidden things, and logically, things go bad …. and you have to survive.

And while the story may not seem like a novelty… the gameplay and variety of choices throughout the 10 randomly-generated maps is extremely fun, so besides being able to download the demo for free with the first 4 levels, there’s a much juicier option to get the last other 6… and that’s to pay 10€. Sine Mora

19 May 2012

Not everyone is dying to get their hands dirty killing evil creatures from Diablo 3, some of us want that, and want also some heavy fine scrolling shooting.

Released a couple of months ago Sine Mora is one of the best shooters we’ve seen in a while combining a bullet orgy and a traditional game structure with some amazing visuals and game dinamics that can only be enjoyed in a home TV screen. Sorry iPad & Android lovers, this is no game for you.

The Hungarian studio Digital reality allow you to take control of a time traveling ship to fly the skies of all steampunk imagined worlds to battle humanoid creatures and their gigantic mech monsters.

You’ll have no health-bar but a timer instead, your sky race is against the clock guiding your group of partisans against serial-killer Ronotra Koss who’s willing to commit genocide.

A scrolling shooter for Xbox owners (available through Live Arcade) made in Europe with Japanese love from sound designer Akira Yamaoka and all the Hungarian toughness you can ask for. More this way.

Firefall demo

26 August 2011

We’re pretty excited about the imminent launch of Red5’s Firefall, a massive team-based shooter that may hurt the big community Quake live has.

The people @ Red5 will be showcasing Firefall at PA in Seattle this weekend, so if you happen to be around drop by booth 3117 and tell us your experience, if not, the beta program which has been pretty limited up until now should open to the public straight after PAX Prime..in a few days basically. If not, you’ll have to wait until the end of the year for the final release.
