One of our quick reminders for those lucky Paris-based citizens who’ll have enough time in the next 2 days to pop by the 16eme arrondissement and check the re-opening of that one another big contemporary-arts institution in the French capital: the Palais de Tokyo.
10 months of works to triple the exhibition space (well… the exhibition space may not be tripled as they’ve added a garden, a jetty….) and try to make of the “mini-gallery with a cool bookshop” a proper 21st century museum that can fulfill the much needed dose of “contemporary” this city needs.
So one week b4 the grand opening the Tokyo Palace opens for a tiny glimpse of what’s to come later on this month with the Trienale and proposes 2 full days of performances, workshops, conferences, music & many many spread art installations & projections all around the palace (from Matthew Herbert presenting his One Pig album to My Little Dead Dick’s (Patrick Tsai & Madi Ju) intimate photographic album) .
It’s literally 30 hours of non-stop cultural activity in what you could consider a festival for those who can afford to get high on culture … as everything is free.
Maybe it would have been better to do it the 13th and 14th but… this is how it is, a great way to kick & buzz the reopening of the Palace, we’ll be there, you better be there. More info & full list of things to do & watch this way, music events this way, and conferences this way. Enjoy!share news item
