5 July 2017

The Quota. group exhibition at Seattle’s SOIL Gallery, opening July 6 and running to July 30.

Curated by Satpreet KahlonMel Carter and Anisa Jackson, the show includes work by manuel arturo abreuAnissa Amalia, Natalie BallIsa BennSabella D’SouzaJueqian FangChristopher Paul Jordanmario lemafaGee Wesley and Ellen Xu

The participating artists have been asked to respond to the same question, “What kind of work would artists make if they felt none of the external and internal pressures that they normally face?” In this exploration of quotas and expectations, the curatorial premise aims to playfully open up a dialogue around internal and external limitations and “happily invites the possibility for failure.”
