Artist Josephine Pryde is opening a new solo show titled lapses in Thinking By the person i Am, running at Philadelphia’s ICA from September 16 to December 27.
The English born, London- and Berlin-based artist presents a new body of work commissioned for her first American museum exhibition with more than 20 photographs of hands shot with a macro lens, allowing the details to be enlarged in the final frame.
The hands, all with brightly painted nails, depict their contact with a range of “touch-sensitive device”—phones, tablets, lamps, human chests. And while the photographs can be viewed traditionally, on foot, there is also weirdly a fully functional miniature rideable train that takes visitors along the route of the show.
See the exhibition page for details. **
