Alex Williams and Nick Srnicek are launching their new book, Inventing the Future: Postcapitalism and a World Without Work, at Foyles London, on November 3.
Published by Verso, Srnicek and Williams’ text draws on the context of the recent rise in populist left parties across Europe (from Jeremy Corbyn to Podemos) to present a manifesto for a world after capitalism.
In conversation with Emma Dowling, the duo contend that concrete alternatives to capitalism must be born out of a high-tech, sophisticated economy, which can deliver advanced living standards and freedom from work.
