Following an earlier Ecology Tapes Vol. One with Sim Hutchins & Klaar, the follow-up features music by Belgian-born composer and sound artist Ecker whose contribution blends composition and acoustic instrumentation with field recordings collected from around the world and emerging with track titles like ‘Wadi Rum (revisited)’ and ‘Quasur El Atash’.
Boris Baltschun, Koen Nutters, Morten J. Olsen and Michael Thieke of The Pitch also use field recordings along with a pump organ, upright bass, clarinet and vibraphone to present “a patient, fragmented piece that slides between physical spaces”.
The limited cassette release features artwork by KNIVES co-founder Joe Shakespeare.
