The Changing Wind

18 May 2012

Today kicks off the European tour of one very particular couple…. and a very particular and unique fusion of sounds: Elfin Saddle, the communion of Emi Honda and Jordan McKenzie.

To spice things up they created one of their head-messing videos for The Changing Wind single released over a couple of weeks ago and taken from their third album (already) “Devastates”.

Revolving, intense and filled with energy this unusual folk (sounds we’re not accustomed to at this side of the pond) will be visiting a few European cities until the end of next month. Too bad they’re not coming to London or Paris, too good the nice people @ Constelation have uploaded the album for streaming on soundcloud.

Walking Through Mist

21 June 2011

This little owl has a very nippon accent, at least on this first video conceived & directed by by Kurtis Hough. “La Lechuza” is Esmerine’s third album (Rebecca Foon & Bruce Cawdron) which after six years bring us this highly instrumental set which was written and sung by Lhasa de Sela with accompaniment by Bruce and Rebecca, which they recorded together before Lhasa passed away.

Released under our beloved Constellation Records this beautiful but painful medievalesque work also includes guest appearances by Patrick Watson (piano, vocals), Colin Stetson (horns), Sarah Neufeld (violin).. amongst others. Give it ago, you won’t regret it.

La Lechuza – ESMERINE by Constellation Records

Le Lechuza is dedicated in loving memory to Lhasa de Sela (1972-2010).
