In light of Britain’s recent choice to Brexit, Arthouse1 in South East London will host group show, Secret European Studio, opening July 7 and running to July 30.
Curated by Paul Carey-Kent, the exhibition intends to emphatically celebrate, “somewhat mournfully”, the current diversity of the London art scene by focusing on what’s being made by artists who come from EU countries, but live in the British capital.
Invited artists include Simona Brinkmann, Alzbeta Jaresova, Nadege Meriau, Troika (Conny Freyer, Sebastien Noel, & Eva Rucki), Willem Weismann and Lisbon-born Carlos Noronha Feio, whose recent show at Narrative Projects dealt with affinities to place, belonging and specific location through image object and sound.
