The New York-based artist presents a new set of 36 randomly-generated hexagon-shaped dye sublimation prints, arranged like a game board map. Adding automated texture-bombing to the process Walczak’s in an attempt “to reassert a bit of author in all this”, this being the artist’s exploration into patterns, tiles, and mosaics, while thinking about art, information, and trends.
“What is the nature of content or individual style in today’s climate of accelerated artistic production in a crowded field?” asks the press release, which carries on to compare the “icons, symbols, and glyphs” of computers and screens with “the first steps of written language”
