Digital Arts residency in Abu Dhabi

29 July 2013

Earlier this year, we went in search of the Dubai art aesthetic in the United Arab Emirates, via Lauren Devine and Emirates airlines. We turned up little by way of transmedia art in the Al Quoz art district of the city, which is why we’re glad to see a Digital Arts residency in UAE capital Abu Dhabi. It’s being offered by the Institut français and the city’s Zayed University, available to all French Nationals and residents and applications close September 2.

The residency runs for two months, from October 20 to December 20, and includes a space for research and discussions with the students and faculty of the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, while the exchange may take the form of workshops or projects jointly developed with students and will be presented as part of the International Symposium of Electronic Art 2014, taking place for the first time in the Middle East. There may also be an opportunity for the selected artist to take part in November’s Art Abu Dhabi in November. See the Institut français website for more details. *
