New release from our much admired Toronto-based label DAPS. Beta Frontiers’…. EP!

For the debut single of their upcoming EP (out APril 17th) they’ve collaborated with ex-You Say Party Becky Ninkovic and and the label friend & clip mastermaker Cameron Tomsett. In fact the EP will be presented as a series of short films by Cameron &  Dean Tzenos of Odonis Odonis  (who are both preparing the New World clip too).

One of the first big surprises of this year is certainly going to be the release of Phèdre’s self-titled album in a couple fo weeks. Those “three lovers from Monaco, raised in a cave of gold” who seem to have hit the right “extraterrestrial&exotic” spot just like MGMT did back in 2007 and so many bands have tried to emulate since.

The trio are a couple of members of Hooded Fang: Daniel Lee and April Aliermo together with Airick Woodhead of Doldrums, and while they all have a pretty busy agenda with their respective bands (HF for ex. are touring in the UK and then the US this whole month + March) they’ll be presenting their debut LP @ The Great Hall in Toronto (Canada) later this month.

Their album will be released next February 14th on Daps Records but next Tuesday the good folks @ Gorilla vs Bear will give us a streaming preview for our pleasure. Make sure you’re there.
