I’m Feeling So Virtual I’m Violent @ HA HA Gallery, Oct 15

13 October 2016

The I’m Feeling So Virtual I’m Violent group exhibition is on at Southhampton’s HA HA Gallery, opening October 15 and running to January 14.

The event is a 2016 BAS8 Fringe Southampton Associate Commission and features new work by  artists Claire Boyd, Liv Fontaine, Neil Haas, Vanessa Omoregie, Sarah Roberts, and Rafal Zajko.

“The world is falling apart!”

The press release cries out for substance and collectivity in our over-consumption of information without ideas and confronts our exposed anxieties: “Empowerment is not based in big data, freedom cannot be sought through capitalist structures; the Silicon Valley gatekeeper is not your friend. Defriend now”.

The opening party will kick off with a ‘MYSTERY SECRET IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE’.

4 May 2016

The Sorry About Last Night group exhibition is on at Sheffield’s The Washington Pub, opening May 6 and running to June 6.

The multidisciplinary show celebrates work birthed from bad life choices, and is placed between the shiny optimism of getting ready before a night out and the consequent hangover the next day. In sharing truths and slurring emotions the evening seeks what the press release calls “drunken  inspirations, drinking to forget, passionate pub debates, pointless fights with friends, loss of inhibitions, misguided decisions, hungover regrets, next day apologies, and one too many Jaegerbombs [sic].”

A confessional performance/public meltdown by Self Esteem (Rebecca Taylor of Slow Club) will commence at on the evening of May 6, with Karaoke running into the late hours.
