NO SCREENING @ ICA, May 13

12 May 2016

The NO SCREENING audio presentation and performance is on at London’s ICA on May 13.

The event is curated by artist Cristine Brache in response to Martine Syms’ current Fact & Trouble exhibition that questions gestures in American media as expressions of identity. Selected artists —including Cassandre GreenbergAna Maria Soubhia & Rhoda Boateng, Ulijona Odišarija, and Sarah Boulton —will present sonic works to be performed and heard in darkness, eschewing the ‘screen’ and questioning its primacy in storytelling.

Other participating artists include Harry Bix,  Shenece Liburd, Christopher Kirubi and Mary Vettise in an event presented by art and sound collectives Sounds Like and East Anglia Records.
