Thug Entrancer, ‘Ronin’ (2016) video

2 February 2016

Thug Entrancer (aka Ryan McRyhew) has released a new video ‘Ronin’ ahead of his live performance as part of the Zones I programme at Berlin’s Berghain for CTM Festival on February 2, as well as the upcoming release of his Arcology album, on Daniel Lopatin’s Software label on on March 4.

The video accompanies the somehow clean-cut sci-fi sound of the Denver-based producer and sound artist with visuals by Brooklyn-based artist Milton Melvin Croissant III (MMCII). It references everything ‘speculative fiction’ from Frank Herbert’s cult classic Dune and graphic artist Alex Ross’ Shadow Run black and white illustrations.

In much the same fashion as Software label founder and producer Lopatin’s Oneohtrix Point Never project has a standing relationship with artist Nate Boyce, Thug Entrancer too has announced at least two live A/V performances with  MMCII, one that’s just been at International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) on January 30 and another for the Zones I performance at CTM on February 2.
