‘Mining the Image’ @ Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, Sep 14

4 September 2013

Here’s a two-month extension on Lindsey Starkweather’s recent aqnb piece on the object in Net art. Starting in Berlin next month, ‘Mining the Image’ is a panel discussion presented by director of South London’s Arcadia Missa and researcher at Post Media Lab Rozsa Farkas, at Berlin’s Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, September 14.

As part of Transmediale‘s reSource 006 events running September 12 to 14, that talk transpires in response to Harry Sanderson’s ‘Human Resolution’ piece written for Mute Magazine exploring the very human cost of online production. From there the render farm project, which opens at Arcadia Missa October 14 and features work by Melika Ngombe Kolongo and Daniella Russo (Kade Ranger and I.U.Y), Clunie Reid, Hito Steyerl, Maja Cule and Takeshi Shiomitsu was born, to which ‘Mining the Image’ is the precursor but more on that later.
