7 December 2015

The 5th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art nears the end of its Open Call for young artists and curators to participate in the 2016, with the open call running from October 27 to December 27.

One of the largest contemporary art projects in Russia, the biennale will take place in Moscow from July 1 to August 10, 2016 with the theme being ‘Deep Inside’.

The opportunity to participate in the biennale’s two strategic projects is open to artists and curators from all over the world who are under 35 years of age. These projects will take place at National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) and Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), and the main project will be held at the Trekhgornaya Manufactory, one of Moscow’s oldest factories and  a fledgling exhibition space, under the curatorial supervision of curator and Berlin gallery Import Projects founder Nadim Samman.

transmediale 2014 open call for works

15 July 2013

Last year’s transmediale festival in Berlin explored the influence of shifting cultural paradigms on our understanding of science and the world with Back When Pluto Was a Planet and yielded impressive appearances by the like of Andrew Norman Wilson and Jennifer Chan. This year afterglow explores the perceived digital cultural wasteland we exist in in the wake of the Great Land Grab by those major corporate entities that descended on the web early on and they’re seeking artists with finished works engaging with this post-internet discourse exploring the aftermath. Submissions close on July 31 so see the transmediale website for more details. **
