Ai Weiwei @ Martin-Gropius-Bau, Apr 3-Jul 7

11 April 2014

From April 3 until July 7, Berlin’s Martin-Gropius-Bau museum is hosting a massive one-man exhibition of artist Ai Weiwei’s work titled Evidence.

Over 3,000 square meters and 18 rooms of the museum’s spectacular Lichthof will be filled with the artist’s oeuvre, including pieces never before shown in Germany as well as those specifically designed for the exhibition at Martin-Gropius-Bau. The exhibition, the largest to date for the Chinese-born artist, invokes the crime series lingo of American TV, perhaps an allusion to the artist’s own contentious standing in his native country.

To learn more about the prolific artist, architect and politician, visit his official website; to learn more about the exhibition, visit the gallery event page. And for details including location and contact information, visit the aqnb event listing. **
