Life line

Life line

5 November 2009

We discovered Tomek Ducki‘s work the other day now that he’s directed Basement Jaxx latest video (My Turn). Today we’re bringing you some other of his works starting with this Life Line which is from 2007 but just became available on-line 4 days ago (2 years in the limbo because of music rights).

It was first presented at his graduation show in 2006 in Budapest, then staying in the drawer for almost a year. In 2007 – thanks to a friendly deal with Woodwork music – a renovated version went out to the festival circuit, and the film tour started in Stuttgart ITFS, gaining immediately a special mention and many more awards later on. Ducki explores the notion of predetermined, fatalistic pathways in this compelling short.

Pure mechanical poetry with music ‘Camino’ by Murcof and produced by MOME.

His visuals for Basement Jaxx live show (Feeling’s gone) are just as eye-catching as My Turn (with a logic resemblance to BJaxx style).

Ducki is a half Hungarian half Polish animator who studied at the ASP Cracow and got several exchange programs, now that he’s got into the music video industry we wish him lots of success.
