The Liberate yourself from my vice like grip. art and music event is on at Manchester’s Islington Mill on November 12.

Presented by Broken Grey Wires, the event comes in support of the arts organisation that responds to and explores mental health. The press release comes with an extensive list of artists and performers taking part in the one night event, as well as a quote by New Left thinker and author of The Divided Self, psychiatrist RD Laing: “Madness need not be all breakdown. It may also be break-through.”

Artists involved include Lizz Brady, Amy Mizrahi, Jared Pappas-Kelley, and Paul Kindersley, among others, with performances by Mother, ILL, The Yossarians, Shield Patterns, and Andy or Jenny.

B.Y.O.B @ The Auxiliary, Aug 19

The B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Beamer) is a night of visuals, projections and moving image hosted by Stockton-on-Tees’ The Auxiliary on August 19.

The evening will feature works by Sorcha McCole, Jared Pappas-Kelley, Paul Stewart, Omsk Social Club Feat. PUNK is DADA, Milos Trakilovic, Nathan Baxter, Pete Fleming, Thomas Tyler, Stephen Irving and Ryan David Butler among other national and international artists, as well as Garden Tunes by Spectacular Optical.

The event is part of a series of one-night exhibitions where artists from around the world gather in a place and bring their own projectors, an idea started by Rafaël Rozendaal. This B.Y.O.B is also open to any artists wishing to take part on the evening. To register email info@theauxiliary.co.uk.
