Iranian NYC-based artist Kamrooz Aram is launching his book Palimpsest: Unstable Painting for Anxious Interiors, published by Dubai’s Green Art Gallery and London’s Anomie Publishing, on March 17, as part of his exhibition of the same name running at until May 2 .
Inspired by the cycle of resistance and suppression of public graffiti removal and its reapplication in the urban environment, Aram’s series explores whether the process of image-making can become central to the meaning of a painting.
Also involved in the publication are curators Eva Díaz and Bidoun contributors Murtaza Vali and Media Farzin. **
