Deniz Eroğlu @ Frankfurt am Main, Nov 15 – Dec 13

14 November 2015

Deniz Eroğlu‘s This city on the seashore, they say it is built of marble will be presented at Frankfurt am Main gallery in Berlin, with an opening reception on November 15. The show will run to December 13.

The exhibition is itself informed by an anecdote by Mustafa Eroğlu who is proud of decorating his house in the Turkish style – from a handmade carpet, furniture to kitchen stuffs. A lengthy, voyeuristic like text from Proust’s Swan’s Way accompanies the press release. The interplay between the public and the private, suggest an exhibition and an artist comfortable exploring notions and operations of place, identity and memory.

See the press release for (limited) details.**

Clémence de la Tour du Pin @ Frankfurt Am Main, Mar 1

27 February 2015

Hotel Palenque returns this Sunday with Clemence De La Tour Du Pin at Frankfurt am Main, taking place on March 1 from 6-9pm.

Since its inception in 2011, Hotel Palenque has commissioned a series of artists according to a simple but unique set of production rules: each work must be produced in an A0 format (0.8 x 1.2m) and all digital remnants or files must be destroyed prior to the work being shown. The presentation becomes that of one work, existing solely in its present physical form, for one night only.

With their latest commission, Hotel Palenque brings Berlin-based artist artist Clemence De La Tour Du Pin, who, together with Antoine Renard, runs a Berlin project space called Center. Some of Clemence’s recent projects include Center’s off-site project Stoneroses, the EDENunlimited/tbc.tbc collaborative project with Renard, and the recent C R A S H group exhibition.
