This here NYC rapper keeps going from strength to strength. As the future of hip hop as we know it -along with the likes of Zebra Katz, Le1f and, heiress to Lil Kim x Nikki Minaj’s throne of throw-downs, Azealia Banks –Mykki Blanco has been demonstrating his diversity from the wonky auto-tune of Join My Militia (Nas Gave Me a Perm) to the cheeky swag of Wavvy and the oddly off-point rock of Head is a Stone.
It’s darkness that Blanco does best and with this lead single for the upcoming Cosmic Angel Mixtape: The Illuminati Prince/ss premiered on Pitchfork a few days ago, ‘Haze.Boogie.Life.’ carries on the foreboding, low-life bass lines and popping signals, which is fast becoming his trademark. The video is directed by London’s own Danny Sangra, probably filmed when he was over for a Lucky PDF show along with Physical Therapy back in September. We predict big things for Mykki Blanco and sure hope he achieves them.
