‘Pizza Parlance’, record release + performance @ S T O R E, Sep 1

31 August 2015

Dresden’s S T O R E gallery is hosting an opera performance by Julia Mintzer and Charles Ogilvie, as well as the limited edition release of the LP Pizza Parlance, Live in Venice 2015 on September 1.

The opening of Pizza Pavilion, curated by Paul Barsch and Konstanze Schütze, at Venice’s Campo Santa Margherita in May was accompanied by ‘Pizza Parlance’, a “semi-entertaining, anti-formalistic and psychotic comedy performed and directed by Mezzo-Soprano Julia Mintzer, artist Charles Ogilvie, and composer Toby Young.”

Mintzer and Ogilvie reunite in Dresden this week for another round of the performance, which has the former playing the role of an anxious, inexperienced singer caught in a dysfunctional relationship with her manager/technician, played by the latter.
