Amanda Beech @ BALTIC, Oct 20 – Jan 29

20 October 2016

Amanda Beech is presenting the UK premier of Covenant Transport Move or Die at Gateshead’s BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, opening on October 20 and running to January 29.

Initiated and developed between both BALTIC and Sunderland’s Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, the exhibition is comprised of a five-channel video installation that creates a landscape of opposition between mobility and weight, mixing “analogue-style pop and video game aesthetics, featuring five characters who form a workerist crew comprising manager, worker, programmer, consumer, and dealer.”

There will also be an accompany essay by Reza Negarestani.

The Los Angeles-based artist recently published an artist book called First Machine, Final Machine (2015). Some recent exhibitions include All Obstructing Walls Have Been Broken Down At Belfast’s Catalyst Arts and Everything Has Led to this Moment at London’s Xero, Kline, Coma.
