29/03/2006 - 03/04/2006
La Gaite Lyrique, 3 bis rue Papin
Paris, 75003 France
+ Google Map
$3 – $24

We're not lucky enough to have someone reviewing the cultural panorama in Berlin. We know it's probably the most exciting city in Europe right now (and for the past 5-10 years)... having ousted London as a trend pole and underground hub for more than one reason quite a while ago. But at least if we don't get to go to Berlin, the city comes to us! From next Tuesday and for a week our new favorite Parisian digital hub (La…

Oxcars 2011

27/10/2006 - 28/10/2006
Sala Apolo, Nou de la Rambla, 113
Barcelona, 08004 Spain

Barcelona much like Berlin has a personal & internal competition to become Europe's sharealike cultural capital. The Freecultural movement is alive and year after year the Oxcars night reminds us of such need. Artists and performers from all areas of Spanish and international culture take part in a "Gala" with all kind of surprises, pooling their efforts to demand a stop to culture being treated as merchandise by royalty management organisations and cultural industry lobbies. And here comes an initiative by the guys @ memepartnership (Alex Stevens & Jo Kotas) that will eradicate all ads from those CBSO platform screens, and many of you will probably think it's another "arty" clever campaign, but it won't be... The Smile for London…

GDC, various
San Francisco, CA United States
+ Google Map

After more than 10 years showcasing some of the most original games in the industry, the Independent Games Festival is back for its 2011 edition next March. Some call it the "Sundance" for game developers, others see it as a the only way of catapulting their careers. And the big studios seek each edition for new talent to hire. (Max & the magic marker winner of last year's D2D division award @ IGF) The festival has awarded hundred of thousands…
