Hey hey! One last contest and one last opportunity to demonstrate your talent before 2010 ends? A 4-day new festival from the hands of  Michael Stewart, Andrew Steggall, Olivia Bellas & Jessie Teggin who have quite a few ambitions from the start although not that much budget. Dock’s Docs

01/03/2011 - 30/04/2011
online

A documentary remix competition? You may know 200 different types, but this is the first time we've personally heard of  the "Remix" series. And because it doesn't seem that crazy (and also it's part of the Euroean Culture Congress), oh and because it's a creative contest (one of those with prizes) we thought you could be interested... First, let's give you the contest of why it's called "Dock's Docs", even though you may have already guessed... For those of you…

Cinemateque Paris, 51 Rue de Bercy
Paris, 75012 France
+ Google Map
$10

Very few directors can prove to have pushed sci-fi cinema, special effects and taboos further away than Kubrick, a genius which was (like most) a polemical & bizarre figure outside his work. It is the first time that La Cinémathèque française hosts a travelling exhibition not initiated by their own teams but by those of another institution. This Kubrick exhibition owes its existence to the Deutsches Filmmuseum in Frankfurt and to Hans-Peter Reichmann, its Curator, who designed it in 2004…

Paris, 75003 France

Who needs to pay Frillions to Publicis, WPP or Omnicom when you can have the God of brand refreshment and image "coolization" for a far more affordable price? (ok, this may no longer apply). You all probably remember the summer 2009 MTV relook or last year's AOL crazy logo relaunch... because all brands need some surgery from time to time and if it can make decades-old institutions look as new born stars, even better. Matt Pyke is responsible for these…

Machines already talk. That's what M2M technologies are for, and the billions of connected devices in the coming years will only keep increasing with time... our cameras will talk to us, just like our fridges or even our toilets! But for these machines and objects to talk to us in an effective way these have to recode their original language into something understandable by all human beings. Moma's Talk to Me exhibition comes to explore such communication. All objects contain…

Here's a quick but highly recommended free visit proposal for next week in NYC: Lumarca. The installation is a volumetric display which allows viewers to see 3D images and motion. The system requires only a computer, a projector, and common materials found at most hardware stores. Its scale is limited only by the size of the projected image and.... your own ambition. Conceived as an affordable platform for artists to design compelling content, Lumarca is a collaboration between Albert Hwang,…
