The International competition for short films of movement idill(.... too complicated, how about on-line dance short film competition et basta?) is back another year, so get your body moving... (Spin was 2009's winner, no need for a highly sophisitcated human choreography as you can see) idill –  is a competition international in scope set up by Charleroi/Danses, the Choreographic Centre of the French Community of Belgium, La Gaîté Lyrique and Sadler’s Wells, the UK’s leading Dance House, in partnership with…

Disposable Film Festival 2012

07/09/2011 - 30/11/2011
online

For me personally there used to be only one disposable film festival and that is Notodo's FF which has been running for a decade now (and will be open by the end of the month btw). But it seems there's another on-line festival across the pond who's got that name for themselves: Eric Slatkin and Carlton Evans' DFF. Now in its 5th edition America's DFF has gathered a few more sponsors (which translates into more $$$) and an increasing buzz…

Hackney Film Festival

various, Hackney
London, United Kingdom

The good thing about London is that there's always something exciting going on. If it's not a cinema competition on racing boats across the city canals is hidden super secret evenings with Eastern Europe's best trapeze artists or high-quality electro squats. The bad thing is that most of these are 1 time only and hardly repeat themselves throughout the months or years. And here comes the second edition of a great initiative:the Hackney Film Festival! Conceived as a platform for local…

Last year with the beginning of autumn a new festival started to take shape in the streets of Madrid. A viking invasion leaded by Jonathan Johansson, Kaspar, Murder and José González. But it wasn't all about viking music, viking rock & soft pop. There was some room for cinema, dark literature and a few talks too, but most of the festival gravitated around our beloved viking sounds. How about this year? Well yes, there will be a second edition of…

Here's one of our quickies. It started last Saturday but it will be on-going for the next 3,5 months, a real luxury for Manga freak lovers! Parisian contemporary arts (and other things) center "Beaubourg" just opened an anime film cycle 1 week ago within their "13/16 studio" (you know... that "exclusive" part of the museum dedicated to adolescents). Not that many of the films they've chosen for the 4-month cycle are particularly adolescent-oriented but.... given the dimension and ambition of…
