freeStarting next Friday and for just over a week Rencontres Internationales will be taking over Paris once again for some audiovisual and contemporary art exchange like they’ve been doing for the past 15 years.
In this occasion Palais de Tokyo & La Gaité Lyrique (which seem to hog most cultural events in Paris lately) will become the discovery spaces for all those screenings, round tables and exhibitions R.I. proposes each year. Documentaries, experimental fiction, net art and loads of cross-media projects are invited which this year englobe 150 works from 40 different countries….
From well-known directors to young pioneers Rencontres Int. take place this year @ Palais de Tokyo where all of its screenings and program will be free. Amongst the well-packed program (which you can read here) this year we’ll get to see Apichatpong Weerasethakul ‘s new short film “Ashes“, Pedro Costa’s “Ne Change Rien” or the projection of John Cage’s exepcional “One11with 103“.
3 examples of the vast program including performances by JODI duo or a focus on Norwegian visual arts. 9 days to explore passively… and actively as on top of the usual debates and talks the 4th of December there’s an “exhibition” parcours organized by Ren. Int., or a TV Lab – studio – present @PalaisdeTokyo and accessible via their webpage so viewers can watch the artists’ interviews and talks carried out throughout the festival.
