Nicolas D’Olce – Incidents @ Since – Paris
21/09/2012 @ 8:00 am - 27/10/2012 @ 5:00 pm
freeSaying the world is completely drunk may be a little bit daring, saying however that we’ve helped our little planet getting tipsy with our daily incidents sounds more convincing…
Paris-based artist Nicolas D’Olce proposes his own vision of all these incidents in his latest exhibition @ Parisian gallery Since starting September the 21st. From a first virgin planetary surface: his favorite Plexiglas material, he ideates imaginary rough landscapes that unfold in the depth of color, sharp contrasts and staggering empty blacks. The surface is ready for his uncontrolled strokes as if they were meteorites shaping a newborn world.
The oscillation of his hand breaks the ice with violence, like one of those wounds that will leave an eternal scar on your body. In “Incidents” they’re poised to become a small reflection of our human traces, throughout a network of straight and schizo lines, those of human encounters, the planned, the chance and also the destructive ones.
A short but explosive exhibition (like most @ Since) starting late September and lasting for just over a month. More info this way (in French).
