Mariscal @ Museo ABC – Madrid
19/06/2012 @ 8:00 am - 09/08/2012 @ 5:00 pm
freeThere are very few Spanish contemporary designers as internationally known as Javier Mariscal whose unclassifiable creations (and those of his team) go from interior design to architecture, comic strips and animation or even the 1992 Olympic games mascot. If he hasn’t designed it… it probably doesn’t exist.
And his enormous (and sometimes deformed) universe gets a summer showcase @ the very central Madrilian ABC museum. A trip from his origin, with characters as mythical as the Garriris, iconic images such as the Bar Cel Ona… to end up dancing with the protagonists of the feature film Chico & Rita are some of the works being exhibited from the Mariscal factory.
The show, which attempts to sneak into the heart of the creative process and the vital impulse of Mariscal, has been conceived as a large installation, showing his complete trajectory in a space crowded with projects. The dialogue established among the different specialties of design, media and techniques, contributes with the keys of his recurrent creative themes…
A refreshing visit in the torrid city of Madrid, which during June-August transforms into a concrete hell, fortunately for all of us Mariscal @ ABC is open until mid-September. More info this way.
