Genesis Breyer P-Orridge presented solo exhibition Genesis Breyer P-Orridge at Cologne’s Vosberg, which opened July 16 and continued until August 27, 2016.

Organised by Elisa R. Linn & Lennart Wolff, the show consisted of a video installation and collages placed around the walls of the room. The video ‘Blood Sacrifice’ is a “valentine to a love both lost and enduring” where two perfume bottles filled with blood are presented differently, one crumbles and leaks, spreading its contents around the other. The intact bottle contains the real blood of the late-Lady Jaye Breyer, the first gift given to Genesis P-Orridge when their relationship first began.

The work became a declaration of committment and explores “re-union and re-solution of male and female to a perfecting hermaphroditic state. This includes having cosmetic surgeries that blur the lines between their sexes and bring them nearer to being physically one, serving both as a gesture to an all-consuming romantic love and a reminder that evolution is not at an end.”**

The Genesis Breyer P-Orridge solo exhibition was on at Cologne’s Vosberg, running July 16 to August 27, 2016.
