Rollin Leonard is presenting solo exhibition Vernal Pond at Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), opening June 26 and running to August 14.

The Portland- and LA-based artist, who has exhibited at New York’s Transfer Gallery solo and as a part of Faith Holland’s “visual mixtape” GIFs to Have Sex By, will open CMCA’s new building by architect Toshiko Mori.

Working with video and photography, as well as arcane and idiosyncratic techniques and materials, Leonard’s work sometimes nods to a net art-inspired aesthetic and creates what the press release calls “offbeat, provocative portraits and images of the human figure that push the boundaries of the photographic medium and engage the viewer in a dialogue about representation, data, and individuality.”

See the CMCA website for details.**
