Marianna Simnett‘s first solo exhibition titled Valves Collapse is on at London’s Seventeen Gallery, opening January 14 and running to February 20.

Simnett is a London-based artist working with performance and video who will be showing two pieces as part of the exhibition: musical film ‘Blue Roses’ (2015) and a light and sound installation called ‘Faint with Light’ (2016).

First presented along with earlier films, ‘The Udder’ (2014) and ‘Blood’ (2015), as well as a live performance at Serpentine Galleries in August, 2015, ‘Blue Roses’ presents two protagonists, “a sick leg” and “an army of biobots”. Meanwhile her newest work, ‘Faint with Light’, was developed from sound recordings of Simnett repeatedly “fainting through self-induced hyperventilation”.
