Arcadia Missa is bringing in Croatian artist Maja Cule of the former Dora & Maja for her first UK solo exhibition, titled Facing the Same Direction and running at the London space from October 11 until November 15.

“[W]illfully fold[ing] itself into Do What You Love (DWYL) culture”, Cule’s show tackles the modern concept of a ‘sharing economy’ and how it connects to both technological access and to the greater micro-social power structures at play in any economy. Featuring new video works, objects designed by the artist, as well as a crowdfunding campaign, Facing the Same Direction gives a conceptual frame to contemporary cultural production.

The opening night on October 11 will also feature a small tour of the exhibition in conversation with the artist and with curator Cadence Kinsey, followed by a performance by V4ULT with Rakel Lindgren and Ella Plevin to celebrate the book launch for a gesture waves us on, answering our own wave.
