Submissions for Les HTMlles 11 close Nov 17

, 29 October 2013

A bilingual Montreal festival with a feminist perspective might sound like a mouthful but its an important one, which is why we encourage participation in the Les HTMlles festival of media arts + culture, with applications closing November 17.

We’ve all established that patriarchy didn’t disappear with the Zeroes + Ones that Sadie Plant stresses, however well, so do your bit in tipping the balance by submitting proposals for shedding light on perceptions of “today’s futures” for the Zero Futur[e] theme of the artist-run centre’s 11th festival edition bringing together artists, scholars and activists passionate about critical engagement with new technologies from said perspective.

For the unfamiliar, here’s the collective’s mission statement for a bit of perspective:

“Initiated in 1997, the festival began as an international platform for introducing women’s
web art. Collaborating closely with partner organizations, The HTMlles has become a multi-site festival
dedicated to the presentation of women’s, trans and gender non-conforming artists’ independent media
artworks in a transdisciplinary environment that strives for anti-oppression”.

See the Les HTMlles website to apply. **
