Always refreshing to discover new ways to play. If last week we had a look at Johan Sebastian Joust, today let’s go for an also rather simplistic but extremely fun game: Incredible Ape’s Pewx9.

Voice control or commands and speech recognition is certainly not new (I guess we shouldn’t really speak about recognition with something as simple as a “pew”) but little games like this always add some spice and join the ever increasing list of interactive gaming (from the now ubiquitous Kinect to giant street tetris).

The guys at incredible ape (Josh Schonstal & Ian Brock) have made of Pewx9 a new casual success at Microsoft’s console indie games channel by proposing something as simple controlling a  one jet-pack equipped, shape shooting space-man with a microphone.

It’s been nominated for this year’s Indicade game fest. and even though we have our doubts about their success probabilities… we have high hopes for this and their upcoming titles. Look, they’re so happy they’ve even created a video to thank the Indicade org. for their nomation…
