For those of you unfamiliar with the Fon concept have a look here, but basically Fon is a movement initiated years ago to create the widest wi-fi sharing  community on our globe, and so far, so good…

Their new baby (4th model in this 5 years) is cheaper than their previous model (comes at 39€/49$) and the specs & advantages rest the same… you share your wi-fi (and make some money with it) and you get free wi-fi in exchange wherever you go in the planet (several million “Foneros” across the planet).

The device creates two WiFi signals (SSIDs), one private and one public and probably many of you here in the UK are familiar with those BT FON spots you constantly pick signals from. Well, if you were a member of the Fon community, then you would get free wi-fi. It’s just a matter of sharing.  If not…. it’s just another router …
