Take his hand and play with him… or play the drums for him, for Bradford Cox that is. An invitation we can’t resist from an album we won’t have time to review… but which has automatically become (in less than 24h) one of our 2009 favorites….

“Halcyon Digest” (4AD) comes out just 2 years after that emotional blast called Microcastle, reaffirming Deerhunter as one of the most solid and hypnotizing bands from the American Indie panorama (despite their constant line-up changes).

A masterful piece of melancholy which proves than magicians like Bradford Cox are rare, maybe extinct, that’s why we should keep their lyrics & music in formol, forevermore.
