New short animated film by one our favorite Canadian geniuses: Malcolm Sutherland (remember The Astronomer’s dream?). “Umbra”, a dark wormhole  taking the Buddhist idea “everything is empty”… liberating and terrifying, all in one…

Umbra tells us the story of an explorer who adventures into an unknown world, yet it seems that he has been there before.

Mr Sutherland completed this film with music by Alison Melville and Ben Grossman, and foley by Leon Lo. The animation is all hand-drawn; a mix of drawing on paper and digital animation with a wacom cintiq tablet, assembled in After Effects 7 and edited in Sony Vegas 8.
