And in the southern European Viking invasion those Finnish, Swedish, Norwegians and Dannish pale artists keep coming down to the sun… for the next moth and a half the first edition of “Dias Nordicos” (Nordic days) will take over Madrid for an amazing delight of music, film, photography…..
It started last Wednesday with the concert of Kaspar (Finland) + Jonathan Johansson (Sweden) followed by Murder (Denmark) + Moddi (Norway) on Thursday @ the well known Sala Galileo. Four essential names of this new pop scene we like so much and who haven’t achieved yet the fame as other of their compatriots…. The Knife, Jose Gondalez (who’s playing @ the Spanish capital later this month).
ND is entirely devoted to the cultural scene in those cold countries from the Jutland Peninsula up north (including Iceland), it also includes some insights into their design, fashion, literature… and arts in general. The concerts and exhibitions are accompanies by talks and look for a rapprochement between Spain, Latin America and the Nordic countries.

The extra-musical activities begin with a preview of the documentary “The Ordinary Extraordinary Life Of José González” presented by the International Documentary Film Festival of Barcelona Musical In-Edit. Rendez-vous @ Casa de America on September 21st.
October will be for a series of Danish films and many performances & a display of shirts designed by artists and brands from all 5 countries.
Here’s a kind gift in the form of a Spotify list with an example of those 4 major music figures that inaugurated the festival, and the whole program this way…. so as we usually say… if you’re in the Spanish capital during the next few weeks, there’s no need to visit Scandinavia ever-more. As Scandinavia will be visiting you. Enjoy!
