It’s quite very bizarre that “indie” labels such as Warp or DFA miss the opportunity to launch a good hit when the appropriate time, resources & artist’s willingness have arrived. But for once, we have our doubts….

Shit Robot is not new to the NY electro-pop scene, but his name never got big enough, until now. After an EPs (Simple Things) last year, and a few singles Marcus Lambkin (who left Ireland for the Big Apple at the beginning of the l90s) is ready for releasing “Cradle to the Rave”, his debut album we shall evaluate when it comes out also on DFA on Septembeer 21st.

Marcus Lambkin

Turn Enuff is its first single, and has all the ingredients for becoming another easy Housey hit, but the similarities with many other DFA artists, notably with his friend The Juan Mclean (for who’s done several remixes) may leave him in the dark corner… 20 years to release this? Well, you may well be a bit late (even the light streaks effect reminds us of Juan Mclean’s 1st album….).

We won’t kill the album before it’s been released… let’s give him a chance shall we?
