DepicT! is Watershed‘s (Bristol independent cinemas) short filmmaking competition that has been challenging filmmakers since 1999 to create 90 second mini movie masterpieces. Aimed at emerging filmakers or cinematic fans this 100% on-line competition is part of the Encounters Short FF, one of the most renown southern England film festivals which tries to give exposure to many new artists.
“Flighty” by Leigh Hodgkinson… DepicT! ’06 Winner
Each year all the shortlisted filmmakers are invited to attend Encounters and see their 90-second creations on the big screen before a consistently sold-out audience. The winning films are then announced at the Awards Ceremony and all go on to be enjoyed by thousands online through depict.org, in cinemas through the digital screen network, and at other film festivals and public screenings around the world.
