Encounters Short Film Festival (16 – 21 November 2010) has become known world-wide for the extraordinary community of filmmakers it attracts, and for the quality and scope of its programming. This celebrated event is the largest festival of its kind in the UK, showcasing over 300 international short films each year.

Submissions for this year’s festival (16 – 21 November 2010) are now open and run until Wednesday 30 June 2010. This year sees the return of Animated Encounters with the competition programmes being divided into Brief Encounters (all short film, including animation) and Animated Encounters (animation only).

Encounters accept films completed from 1 Jan 2009 and less than 30 minutes in length of every genre: animation, live action drama, documentary, experimental and music video and does NOT have a premiere policy.

In an attempt to go green and reduce the amount of DVD’s submitted, Encounters have once again teamed up with YouSendIt to offer the opportunity to upload your film and save at least £5 of the submission fee. We are also offering reduced fees for early bird entries and multiple film entries.
