The power of collective voices: a guide to Block Universe Festival, May 29 – Jun 4

The performance festival Block Universe opens at various locations across London opening May 29 and running to June 4, 2017.

The programme, which includes a number of performances, talks and workshops, features artists Eglė Budvytytė, Işıl Eğrikavuk, Liz Magic Laser, Nicole Bachmann, Rory Pilgrim, Stina Nyberg, Will Rawls, Young In Hong, Zadie Xa, Kim Coleman, Zoë Poluch and Cara Tolmie.

The week-long festival now in its third year, which will take place at the Royal Academy of Arts and Somerset House among others locations, will look at “nationhood, inclusivity and identity politics set against a changing socio-political landscape.” Focusing on the power of ‘networked communities’ and ‘collective voices,’ the festival will explore contemporary performance, music, dance and visual art being made within such divisive times.
